A fresh daily puzzle gives you another way to think about jiu-jitsu.
Built by Gabe Shaffer, one connection at a time.
I’m Gabe Shaffer. I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2025, and built BJJ Connections to keep learning beyond class.
The first idea was a daily word game: four hidden groups of BJJ techniques, athletes, positions, and history. The project grew from there into a place for the tools and information I wanted as a newer grappler.
I’m interested in learning, competing, and making useful information easier to find. This site is a work in progress that grows as I learn.

Save techniques, build a plan, and keep notes from your sessions.
Free tools, no account required, and a direct line to the person building them.
Puzzle progress, favorites, checklists, and training entries are saved in the browser you use. They don’t automatically sync between devices. Clearing browser data removes them, so export your training log if you want a backup.
